Alex is a 2 year old, 58 lb. Black Mouth Cur mix. He is people and dog friendly, sleeps in his kennel at night, and walks well on leash when taken out. Alex loves car rides and is well mannered. He has been on a couple road trips. Unfortunately, Alex was adopted from the SPCA in 2022 but was surrendered back due to unforeseen circumstances. Alex has skin allergies and will need to be kept on allergy medicine. Unfortunately we know this can be costly but we have high hopes that a loving family is out there. April is 3 year old Labrador mix that we rescued in 2022 from Marion County. She has already been fully vetted as well as treated for heartworms by the SPCA of East Texas. Arizona is a Black Mouth Cur mix with an estimated birth date of 1/2/24. He was rescued from a life of neglect. He receives love and attention from SPCA staff and volunteers but a home is what he deserves. For the 6 months in our care he has been looked over by so many families. Betty White is a 3 year old Great Pyrenees mix. She was rescued by our team after she was seen roaming near a busy highway. Betty has been fully vetted and has been treated for heartworms. Bridgette is a beautiful 6 year old Boxer mix. She weighs 53 lbs. Bridgette has been with the SPCA of East Texas for 1 year. She had an aggressive form of cancer (a mast cell tumor on her ear) which we had removed. Unfortunately, it is common for that type of cancer to spread. It is in the best interest for her to find a home where she can live in comfort. Bridgette will need to be the only pet in her home. She loves people so she will make up for needing to be the only pet. Bridgette is super fun to train and can probably learn anything. To keep her brain busy we have been working on a focused heel, pivots, fronts, and long and short heels. She loves training and learning new commands. She is house broken but will need a refresher since she has not been in a foster home for some time. She has low-medium energy so she does not need a super active family. Meet Carlotta! She is a 4 year old Shepherd mix. She is very petite in size and only weighs 44 lbs. Carlotta was one of 14 dog that the SPCA of East Texas seized from a property in East Texas. Carlotta was left to roam the property and never really had human touch. She has been in our care for over 4 months and is slowly getting used to her routine. She is sweet but very nervous. Cassie is a beautiful 3 year old, 50 lb, Catahoula mix. Cassie is super smart and picks up on training quickly! She loves all people but is sometimes dog selective but is doing much better since we have been working with her! She already knows basic commands like "sit" and "down." Cliff is a Terrier mix with an estimated birth date of 7/26/23. Cliff is FUN. He has spent the night several times at a staff members house and did wonderful. He loves to carry sticks on walks. Meet Piglet! She is a 26 lb American Staffordshire Terrier mix with an estimated birth date of 5/14/23. Piglet was rescued from a property in East Texas and had many wounds that are now healed. Her foster said "I don't think Piglet could get any cuter if she tried, that heart on her nose is beyond adorable. Add to that, she is the absolute best, napping or snuggling all day and not a single accident in the house. She is a perfect dog"! We know that she does well with other dogs as well as cats. Shy Guy is very playful and gaining in confidence! We rescued him recently from a neglectful situation where we rescued 14 from one property. He is doing great on the leash and has been on several walks with our volunteers. He is very dog friendly and tends to be very submissive. As we are still learning about his personality, we do think that it would be best that he finds a home without young kids. COMING SOON! Silas is a striking Poodle/Labrador mix with an estimated birth date of 5/29/24. He was abandoned on a property in East Texas and was surrendered by the home owner who was not able to give him the proper care he needed. Silas has such a wonderful demeanor. He would do well in a home with kids, cats, and dogs assuming his family properly socializes him. He might be small now but we expected her to be large in size when fully grown. He will require routine grooming. He will also need a family that has the time to continue working on basic training. Simon is ready for his forever home! Simon weighs 95 lbs and is an 8 year old Mastiff mix. When he had his intake exam we knew his back had been a little painful for him.
